One of my favorite besties is having a baby in November! This past Sunday, we showered her and her hubs with baby gift love! This is her first and they decided not to find out what they are having. I am soooo Editexcited for the surprise!
Wanted a share a few little crafty things we did for the shower that made it unique and special. We decided on a neutral yellow and green color scheme. I used this idea from Celebrations At Home as inspiration for our shower. It was a couples baby shower and I thought the guys would get a kick out of the "Birds and Bees" theme.
This diaper wreath was inspired from Terri at Crafty Working Momma. (THANK YOU for reminding me Terri!!) She made a couple of these that are super cute and has a terrific tutorial to go along with it.
I bent a hanger for my wreath form, but tied the diapers on with ribbon just as she did. Added a bee teether toy and a couple paci's in coordinating colors to accessorize it a bit. It was a great way to welcome guests at the door.
This was the absolute easiest garland ever. It consisted of different widths of scrap booking papers in coordinating colors stapled to a pretty grosgrain ribbon. It really helped spread the color scheme around the house and add pretty party decor without spending much moolah!
The final touch was yellow sippy cups (found at the Dollar Tree in packs of 5!!) filled with Bit O Honey candy (bee) and lemon drops (yellow). Tied green ribbons around them and voila! Cute, affordable favors!
Other Bird and Bee touches...
Added large green feathers to the floral centerpiece
Added fuzzy bees on pics to to the cake
Served these haystacks (yumm!) aka bird nests
It was such a fun afternoon! The soon to be new mommy was just glowing and now we can't wait to meet the new little bundle of joy!
Linking up to some pretty fun parties! See where all the cool kids are hanging out on the Party Page!!
